Yorkshire Water will begin a £270k scheme in Braithwell, Rotherham, on Monday 6 July to renew over 550 metres of clean water mains.
The project is designed to cut leakage, reduce bursts and improve the reliability of supplies for customers. Ageing pipes will be replaced with modern, more resilient mains as part of the company’s largest-ever programme to strengthen infrastructure and enhance services.
Jason Farrar, project manager at Yorkshire Water, said: "We are making significant investment in Rotherham, and this is the latest of a number of mains replacement schemes to improve resilience in the clean network including Kiveton Park, South Anston and Rawmarsh."
Contract partner M Group will start on Holywell Lane on 6 July, progressing towards High Street and Holywell Crescent. For safety, traffic management will be in place and details will be shared with local customers in advance.
