AJC Group has been appointed to deliver a major regeneration project in Boscombe after being awarded both phases of the Hawkwood Road development on behalf of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council.
The project is supported by UK Government funding designed to encourage regeneration initiatives and increase housing delivery within local communities.
The first phase of the scheme will involve the construction of a new two-storey community centre alongside four retail kiosks and a new pedestrian route linking Hawkwood Road and Christchurch Road. Additional works will include landscaping improvements, drainage infrastructure and the creation of enhanced community spaces.
The second phase will focus on residential development, delivering 68 apartments and new commercial accommodation across three buildings. Plans also include a new public park, cycle storage facilities, refuse areas, parking provision and associated highway and landscaping works.
BCP Council developed the broader regeneration plans for the nine-hectare site as part of efforts to create a new mixed-use neighbourhood in the centre of Boscombe.
The development will also incorporate ground-floor space intended to accommodate health-related or community-focused services as part of the wider regeneration strategy.
