Morgan Sindall's urban regeneration business Muse Developments has secured a £300 million scheme to create a Civic and Cultural Quarter (CCQ) in Doncaster town centre.
Under the terms of the agreement, the company will redevelop the Waterdale area of the Yorkshire town for Doncaster Council. The first phase of the development, which will include a new performance venue, is subject to obtaining grant funding from regional development agency Yorkshire Forward. A decision on funding is expected in August 2009.
Preparatory work on the site is set to commence in May 2009, with construction due to begin by the end of the year. Phase one is expected to be complete by early 2012.
