Wates Group has appointed Gareth Rhys Williams CB as a Non-Executive Director to its Board, enhancing the company's strategic capability as it continues to grow and deliver for customers across the UK.

Rhys Williams is Chair of National Highways, overseeing one of the UK’s largest infrastructure investment programmes. He previously held Chief Executive roles at PHS Group, Charter International, Capital Safety Group and Vitec Group.

He also served as the UK Government Chief Commercial Officer, leading the transformation of public-sector commercial capability and driving improved performance, value and outcomes across major programmes.

Gareth brings a breadth of knowledge across infrastructure, commercial strategy and organisational transformation, which will provide valuable insight for the Wates Group as we continue to deliver our long-term strategy and purpose of reimagining places for people to thrive.
