Turner & Townsend Joins Rolls-Royce SMR Programme Delivery Team For Global Rollout

Turner & Townsend has been appointed to the programme delivery team for the global deployment of Rolls-Royce SMR’s nuclear programme.

Working alongside Amentum as Programme Delivery Partner and supply chain partners Mace, Hochtief and Unipart, the global professional services firm will support the roll-out of small modular reactors through an integrated package of services. These span programme and portfolio management (P3M), cost and commercial management, contract management, controls and performance, procurement and supply chain support, construction, information management and digital delivery.

The initiative is described as a significant long-term growth opportunity for the sector, expected to create jobs in the UK and in countries where Rolls-Royce SMR units are deployed, while strengthening a UK-based portfolio and supply chain capability.

Ruth Todd CBE, Rolls-Royce SMR’s Operations and Supply Chain Director, said: "Partnering with Amentum to successfully deliver the Rolls-Royce SMR program is an important moment for us.

"This partnership supplements our existing capabilities with specialist expertise, geographical reach and provides access to the breadth of Amentum’s wider supply chain.

"It ensures we are equipped to deliver our programs in the UK, Czech Republic, in Sweden and globally with confidence, scale and robust delivery assurance. The Amentum, Rolls-Royce SMR collaboration advances our deployment plans significantly."

Alan Sinclair, Director and Head of Energy and Natural Resources, UK at Turner & Townsend, said: "We are delighted to be supporting Amentum and Rolls-Royce SMR on this landmark programme.

"The appointment reflects our extensive experience delivering complex nuclear and energy programmes at scale and our ability to provide commercial and programme leadership across multimarket portfolios.”

"With global electricity demand expected to double in the coming decades, Rolls-Royce SMR offers a radically different approach to new nuclear: smaller, scalable factory-built nuclear power plants that can be deployed, using a modular approach, for a range of applications."
