Costain, in collaboration with Bradford Metropolitan District Council and the Integrated Bradford Local Education Partnership, has signed Design and Build Contracts for three brand new Primary Special Schools in Bradford as part of the Government's Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.
The Integrated Bradford LEP is a partnership between BMDC, Costain, Amey and BSFI. The project has a value of £40m and construction will be by a 50:50 JV between Costain and Ferrovial Agroman.
Work has already commenced on these schools under 'early works' agreements and is scheduled to be completed during 2009/2010.
Commenting on the award, Andrew Wyllie, Chief Executive of Costain, said: "We are delighted to be awarded the next phase of this exciting BSF contract. Education is an important sector for Costain and this award reinforces our strategy to focus on repeat order work with key customers."
