The Mayor of Olney, Councillor Debbie Whitworth, has officially opened a new community facility at Yardley Manor, a mixed-tenure residential development being delivered by Vistry and Taylor Wimpey in Buckinghamshire.

The new building has been created as a central meeting place for residents and local organisations, providing a dedicated space for community activities within the 250-home development.

The opening marks a key milestone for Yardley Manor, which has been designed to combine new housing with community infrastructure and public open space. Alongside the new facility, the development includes playing pitches, children's play areas and a BMX track for residents and the wider community.

The community building was developed through collaboration between Vistry, Taylor Wimpey, Milton Keynes City Council's planning department and Olney Town Council. Construction began in 2025 and was completed in March 2026, with partners working together to prepare the facility for community use.

Designed to accommodate a variety of local groups and activities, the building overlooks adjacent countryside and green spaces, providing a flexible venue for meetings, events and social gatherings.

The official opening was marked by a community celebration attended by the Mayor of Olney, Councillor Debbie Whitworth, with performances by E-ACT Ousedale School and representatives from The Cowper & Newton Museum.
