Land Registry Reports Decrease In House Prices

Average house prices in England and Wales fell to £184,798 according to the latest figures from Land Registry.

This is the seventh consecutive decrease in the annual rate of growth.

The average cost of a home in England and Wales dropped by 0.4%, and the volume of transactions was also down 26% from the same period last year.

The average number of sales each month was down from 106,969 to 81,926, with January seeing a 39% drop in sales.

The figures showed house prices fell most in Wales, by 2.2%, while the North East saw the highest growth with a a 2.4% rate.
