Simplex Install Foundations For New Road Bridge

Simplex Foundations is installing abutment foundations for a new road bridge over the Grand Union Canal at Rothersthorpe on the A43 at the 15A junction of the M1 motorway adjacent to the Rothersthorpe Motorway Services.

The new bridge is necessitated by the dualling of the single carriageway link road at the busy motorway junction.

Simplex is installing piling for the two main load bearing abutments on either side of the canal. The piles are reinforced with steel cages fabricated on site.

The five-week installation programme is due to finish at the end of the month.
