Mace Appointed In Tate Development

Consultancy and construction firm Mace has been appointed as construction engineers on the new development at Tate Modern.

The new extension, designed by architects, Herzog & de Meuron, will create a new building adjoining Tate Modern to the south, increasing the buildings size by 60% and adding approximately 21,000 square metres of new space.

Alex Beard, Deputy Director of Tate, commented: "We are delighted with the appointments to the Transforming Tate Modern project team. We now have a world-class team in place and with the recent funding announcement from Government, we are moving successfully into a new phase for the project.
