Boyes Rees Appoints Three New Directors

As part of the company's expansion plans, a leading firm of Welsh architects' Boyes Rees Architects has made three key appointments at director level.

The third largest architects firm in Wales has appointed Chris Owen as Project Director, heading up a team of eight people at the practice and will work closely with Company Director, Gary Loo. Clive Webb has been appointed Director in charge of Business Development and Christopher Jones joins the practice as Director of the Healthcare team.

Returning from five years as Executive Director of Chapman Taylor International Services based in Prague, Chris Owen was responsible for running an office with a fee turnover of €3 million on foreign investment projects. His main areas of expertise are master planning and the design of business park and retail developments.

Clive Webb will work closely with the management team, marketing manager and Design Group to drive the business development element of the business forward. With 30 years expertise in architectural practices both within Wales and London, Clive believes his major strengths lie in working alongside clients and developing schemes around what the customers say they want, and to "hear" what they actually need.

Before joining Boyes Rees, Mr Webb was instrumental in the winning of the Sustainable Building of the Year Award and recipient of the 'Innovation Award' in 2006 for his individual contribution to work on the Techium OpTIC project - the flagship building promoting the Optronics Industry in North Wales.

Christopher Jones joins the team with nearly 20 years in architecture, particularly within the healthcare field. He will be heading up the healthcare team at Boyes Rees working on projects for major clients including Swansea NHS Trust, Cardiff & Vale HNS Trust, Gwent NHS Trust, Carmarthenshire NHS Trust and In Health Group.

An associate director in his previous role at another leading architects firm, Christopher has worked on a number of projects for Gwent Healthcare NHS and with each has applied an evidence based philosophy creating patient focused, healing environments.

Boyes Rees Architects is now based in Greyfriars House, Greyfriars Road, Cardiff.
