Caddick Construction has marked the retirement of long-standing Business Development Manager Jo Wright after more than a decade with the company, confirming the appointment of Paul Buttery as her successor.
Wright joined the newly established North West operation in 2016 as its fifth team member and has been instrumental in its progress, cultivating enduring relationships with clients including Network Space, Chancerygate and Redsun Developments.
During this period, the regional business has scaled significantly, with turnover rising from £6m in 2015 to £178m last year. With a 31-year career in construction, Wright focused on business development at Caddick, helping to secure a combined £1.09bn of projects across public and private sectors. In 2016, she delivered the firm’s first regional win with the Linnets Sports Club project for Halton Borough Council.
Jo commented: "Joining as one of the first members of the North West team and helping grow the business over the past decade has been a real privilege. I've built some fantastic relationships and worked with clients that remain important to Caddick today. The industry has changed enormously during my career, particularly in terms of representation and opportunities for women. I'm proud to have been part of that journey and to be leaving the business in such a strong position."
Dave Saville, Regional Managing Director of Caddick Construction North West, added:
"Jo has played a significant role in the growth of our North West business. As one of the earliest members of the team, she helped establish the relationships and reputation that have supported our success over the past 10 years. Last year the North West business achieved turnover of £178m, and Jo's contribution to that growth cannot be overstated. On behalf of everyone at Caddick, I would like to thank her for her dedication and wish her every happiness in retirement."
Buttery brings more than 20 years of construction business development experience, having moved into the sector following an early career as a professional boxer. Following in the footsteps of his father, who spent 40 years in business development, he has held senior roles across the industry and most recently helped double turnover at EFT from £8m to £16m.
Joining at a time of continued expansion in the North West, his priorities will include deepening client relationships, identifying new opportunities and enhancing Caddick’s reputation for delivering high-quality projects.
