Persimmon Homes West Midlands has started construction on its Eckford Vale scheme in Wem, launching a new neighbourhood aimed at providing high-quality homes for local people.
The development will comprise 100 properties ranging from two to four bedrooms, with every home fitted as standard with solar panels and an electric vehicle charging point.
Plans include a new children's play area and more than six acres of public open space, creating attractive green areas for residents and the wider community.
Wider community benefits will see over £400,000 contributed through the Community Infrastructure Levy to support local infrastructure, education and community services. In addition, ten homes will be transferred to a housing association partner for rent and shared ownership.
Persimmon will also facilitate and fund a new mini roundabout at the Lowe Hill Road/B5063 junction to replace the existing layout, and contribute to ecological conservation at the nearby Cole Mere Ramsar Site.
A show home at Eckford Vale will open soon, giving prospective buyers the chance to view the design and finish of the properties and learn more about the development.
