Three four-bedroom homes have been finished in Borehamwood, with two fully adapted for residents with complex physical disabilities; the Caishowe Road scheme has won Gold at the Hertfordshire Building Control Awards.
Three new family homes offering affordable, accessible and energy efficient accommodation have been completed in Borehamwood, marking another step in Hertsmere Borough Council’s programme to deliver much-needed housing for local people.
The development comprises three four-bedroom houses, two of which have been extensively adapted to meet the needs of residents with complex physical disabilities. Specialist features include lifts, hoists and accessible bathrooms, helping to address the borough’s growing demand for accessible housing.
Designed with sustainability and inclusion at their core, the properties provide modern, energy efficient accommodation that supports independent living while helping residents reduce their energy costs.
The Caishowe Road scheme has been awarded Gold in the Best New Social Housing (Small Scale) category at the Hertfordshire Building Control Awards 2026. The awards recognise excellence in construction, sustainability, accessibility and design across Hertfordshire and are judged by an independent panel of industry experts.
The project was delivered through a partnership between Hertsmere Borough Council, construction partners Ermine and Pellings, and Hertsmere Living Limited.
