Space Zero, a strategic design consultancy, has delivered 13 education projects across England, Scotland, and Wales in time for the start of the 2025 school year.
The projects include new builds and refurbishments across nurseries, primary, secondary, SEND, faith schools, colleges, and universities, providing facilities for nearly 9,250 students.
By coordinating with contractors, architects, and supply partners, Space Zero delivered the projects on schedule and within budget, ensuring the learning environments were ready for the new term. The work included both interior design and fitted furniture, creating functional and accessible spaces for students and staff.
In the South East and Greater London, projects included Carew Academy in Wallington, Shenstone School in Dartford, and St Andrew the Apostle in Barnet. Carew Academy, designed for 246 students with autism, sensory impairments, and complex learning needs, features specialist classrooms, vocational areas, and life skills facilities, combining practical layouts with calm, supportive interiors.
In the North West, new facilities were completed at Bolton UCS, Dixons Newall Green Academy in Wythenshawe, Pear Tree Academy in Cheadle Hulme, and Newhouse Academy in Heywood. Additional projects include the Digital Life Building at Teesside University in Middlesbrough and the Florence McWilliam School in Stoke-on-Trent.
In Scotland, Space Zero provided interior design and fitted furniture for three primary schools: Craighall and Blindwells in East Lothian, and Hawkhill in West Lothian. Each school received a tailored interior reflecting local context, with fully installed teaching walls, cupboards, and cloakrooms.
In Wales, Space Zero worked on the Ysgol Mynydd Isa Campus in Flintshire, a combined nursery, primary, and secondary facility for over 1,300 students. The consultancy designed, manufactured, and installed the fitted furniture while working with the local authority to integrate loose equipment, ensuring age-appropriate layouts for all areas of the school.
Wayne Taylor, Founder and CEO of Space Zero, said: "Delivering 13 UK projects for the start of term is a significant collective achievement, and we are proud that almost 9,250 students will walk into spaces designed to support their growth and potential from the very beginning...By coordinating closely with contractors, architects and supply partners, Space Zero has delivered a diverse pipeline of projects on time and on budget, ensuring thousands of children and young people began the new term in inspiring environments."
These projects highlight Space Zero's national impact and regional reach, shaping environments where learners, educators, and communities thrive now and remain supported as education continues to change.
