UCL has partnered with leading global construction firm Mace to complete its cutting-edge neuroscience facility at 256 Gray's Inn Road.

The project, one of UCL’s most ambitious to date, attracted significant interest from top-tier construction companies, each eager to be part of this prestigious development.

Mace was chosen for its outstanding track record in delivering complex, high-profile projects. The firm has previously collaborated with UCL on large-scale initiatives, including the Marshgate building at UCL East and the award-winning UCL Student Centre.

The new neuroscience building is set to become a state-of-the-art research hub, underscoring UCL’s position at the forefront of scientific research and innovation. Mace’s expertise will be instrumental in bringing this vision to life, as the firm prepares to apply its experience in handling complex construction requirements and innovative design to meet UCL’s high standards.

Mace's appointment marks an exciting milestone for UCL as it continues to expand its facilities in support of pioneering research and education in the heart of London.

Hannah Milner, Director of UCL’s Estate Capital Programme said: "This is a very positive step for the programme and I am delighted to have Mace on board. With their extensive experience in the education and life-sciences sectors, they are ideally positioned to complete our state-of-the-art facility with us. The legacy of this construction project will be the vital research that will be conducted within the completed facility and hence our focus remains on completing to world-class standards.

"We're all very much looking forward to establishing a collaborative working relationship with Mace and finishing the project together."

Robert Lemming, Managing Director, Public Sector and Life Sciences, Mace Construct said: "Following the successful completion of both UCL East Marshgate and the Student Centre, we are once again ready to partner with UCL on delivering this high-quality neuroscience building.

"We recognise the significance of this facility in advancing neurological research and treatment, and we are committed to ensuring its successful completion."
