Joanne Conway has been appointed as the Chair of the FM Conway Group.
Joanne, daughter of late Chairman and owner Michael Conway MBE, has worked in the business for 21 years across a number of pivotal roles, including as a member of the FM Conway board since 2011.
Over the past three years, Joanne has been responsible for the manufacturing arm of the business as the Managing Director of the Aggregates and Asphalt (A&A) division, with her tenure taking FM Conway forward to become the second largest asphalt producer in the South East of England.
The family-run business will now see Joanne follow in her late father's footsteps and take over his mantle as Chair in order to continue building on Michael Conway’s great legacy, with Rhia Morgan moving into the role of Managing Director of A&A.
Rhia joined the business in 2016 and has extensive industry experience, including successfully leading the A&A commercial department since 2018 in which she has been responsible for leading the expansion of the business’ asphalt sales and its focus on supplying innovative materials.
Speaking about the importance of her new role, Joanne Conway, Chair of the FM Conway Group, commented: "I am honoured and privileged to take on the role of Chair. I have had the pleasure of watching our great business evolve and adapt over the past 40 years under my Father’s vision and I am proud of the business that we are today. We are a family business with family values working towards delivering the best solutions for all by using the safest, innovative and most sustainable methods. And most importantly, with a workforce of people that care.”"
