Morgan Sindall Construction has been appointed to the Department for Education's (DfE) Construction framework.
Governing projects worth around £7 billion, the DfE framework is central to the government's 10-year school rebuilding plan. Morgan Sindall Construction has won a place on all eight lots of the medium value band, covering projects worth between £6 million and £12 million across England.
The DfE framework is the main delivery vehicle for the School Rebuilding and Free Schools programmes, amongst others, and provides access for third party users to take advantage of the value for money that the framework secures.
The appointment further reinforces the businesses' long-standing relationship with the DfE, having been a construction partner on the previous iteration of the framework for the past four years. During this time Morgan Sindall Construction deployed its innovative MySchool design platform to support the design and delivery of, over £240 million of school projects.
Pat Boyle, managing director of Morgan Sindall Construction said: "Our team is delighted to be continuing our collaborative partnership with the DfE. As a business, we know well the value schools have in communities and the difference the latest thinking in terms of design and delivery can have on teaching and attainment. In creating outstanding places for learning, we prioritise sustainability and driving value through standardisation, goals that are important to the DfE. We view this appointment as the chance to build even further on the positive results we’ve already achieved, working together to deliver a new generation of zero-carbon in operation school buildings."
