A transformational communication programme delivered by Interserve's Business & Industry (B&I) business unit has secured a prestigious award.

The business landed an IWFM Award in the Innovation in People Development and Empowerment category for its work on the project with energy company E.ON.

The award win was in recognition of Interserve's work integrating 10 service lines including catering, security, cleaning and front of house services that was previously delivered by five separate suppliers. The work also included the TUPE transfer of more than 320 employees to a single contract. To achieve this, Interserve rolled out 'Engage', a training and communications platform that helped create a shared way of working.

Jo Davies, Account Director at Interserve Group Limited for the E.ON account, said: "This award recognises our ability to deliver a comprehensive total facilities management solution which also supports a unified and engaged workforce. Our intimate knowledge of regulated industries allowed us to develop this highly effective and innovative communications and training platform, that also delivered an important improvement in health and safety practices."

Sara Leavesley, Head of Assets for E.ON added: "We were delighted that Interserve received this award. It recognises the Engage training and communications platform that has resulted in improved ways of working and an increased engagement from the teams."
