BAM has been appointed to deliver a new office accommodation development in London's King's Cross, marking the company's largest ever contract win.
Designed by Bennett Associates, the two new buildings, known as 11-21 Canal Reach, are aiming to become the lowest carbon high quality commercial office buildings in the UK.
One building will be 12 storeys high at its highest point, dropping down to nine storeys at its northern end. It will include roof terraces with views across the city.
BAM is onsite already with a substantial enabling and substructure works package.
Construction Director Ewen Hunter said: "Nothing at King's Cross is ordinary. Every building is ambitious and the client is constantly pushing what can be achieved for itself and others. Our teams embrace the challenge and our integrated model, involving our design and engineering businesses, makes us an ideal fit for the scale and complexity of this big building with a demanding design."
The main scheme work is due to commence shortly, with the new buildings scheduled for completion in early 2021.
