Industry supplier Keyline has won a £15 million deal to act as the sole supply merchant for improvement works to the A14 between Cambridge and Huntingdon.

Working alongside the A14 Integrated Delivery Team, a joint venture between Costain, Skanska, Balfour Beatty and Carillion, Keyline will be responsible for delivering the required materials for the groundworks and channel drainage across the entire project.

The new A14 will be open to traffic by December 2020, with Keyline’s contract scheduled to end in April 2020.

The contract award has also resulted in the company creating three new jobs; two at its branch in Peterborough and one at its Norwich branch.

In Peterborough, Rachael Moore will act as a senior sales coordinator while Kieran Bell has been appointed as a sales office coordinator based in Norwich.

A further vacancy at Peterborough for a transit and yard worker is currently being recruited for and is expected to be announced in due course.

Emma Ward, Head of National Sales, said: "We are delighted to be part of the integrated team working on this major project with Highways England.

"The positive impact of the A14 improvements is already being recognised by the creation of three new jobs at our branches in Peterborough and Norwich. The completion of the A14 scheme will continue to create a positive legacy for local communities and businesses by connecting people, and enabling economic growth both regionally and nationally."
