Morgan Sindall Plans South Yorkshire Expansion

Morgan Sindall Construction has revealed plans to expand its operations in South Yorkshire, building on its strong delivery record in West Yorkshire and aligning with the goals of the newly launched Great North initiative.

Backed by northern regional mayors, the Great North initiative aims to unlock £118 billion in economic potential across the North of England. With its decentralised structure, established public sector partnerships, and a long-standing focus on regional investment, Morgan Sindall is positioning itself as a key player in supporting this transformative vision.

The company's move into South Yorkshire follows a series of successful projects across Bradford, Wakefield, and Leeds, spanning sectors such as education, healthcare, and commercial development. These projects have helped bolster Morgan Sindall's reputation for delivering sustainable, high-quality buildings that drive social and economic value.

"There is a real energy and optimism across the North, and the Great North initiative provides a timely and strategic framework for meaningful, long-term change," said Ben Hall, Area Director for Morgan Sindall Construction in Yorkshire. "Our business ethos has always been centred on localism, and we're proud to already work in a way that reflects the Great North's ambitions – from our Sheffield office base to our focus on local supply chains, work opportunities, and community investment."

"South Yorkshire, with Sheffield at its core, represents the next chapter in our regional growth story. We're committed to collaborating with local partners to strengthen infrastructure, create local opportunities, and deliver projects that leave a lasting positive legacy in the region," he added.

As part of its South Yorkshire strategy, Morgan Sindall will deepen partnerships with local supply chains and pursue opportunities across sectors including education, healthcare, extra care, social housing, and leisure. The company will continue to operate from its Sheffield office at Hawke Street Business Park, which will serve as a hub for regional expansion.

Morgan Sindall's presence on major construction frameworks, such as YORBuild, Scape, Pagabo, and P23, positions it to deliver flexible, efficient, and responsive solutions that align with public sector needs across South Yorkshire.
