Work is underway to install the facade for a new £48 million office headquarters (HQ) in Cambridge.
Kier Construction is building the facility for global technology company ARM at the Peterhouse Technology Park.
McMullen Facades, part of the Lakesmere Group, has started to design, fabricate and install the facade on the building, with McMullen scheduled to be on site until spring 2017.
A key feature of the scheme is the projecting bespoke silver anodised aluminium perforated vertical fins, referencing ARM's business of creating processor designs for silicon chips.
In addition, McMullen will install horizontal shelf Brise Soleil solar shading to the ground and first floor levels, as well as wrapping some 8000m2 of Schüco FW 60 stick curtain walling system around the steel and concrete structure.
Further works involve designing and installing the glazed roof lights, double and single banked louvres, aluminium rainscreen cladding and the building's bolted glass entrance featuring a revolving door.
Designed by Scott Brownrigg architects, the new building has been planned to achieve a BREEAM sustainability rating of ‘Excellent' and will connect to ARM's existing campus via a covered link.
The overall development is scheduled for completion in autumn 2017.
