HS2 Ltd has selected Roy Hill as its Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Mr Hill, who will take up the role next month, is joining the company for a second time after leading the project in its early stages.
His appointment follows previous Chief Executive Simon Kirby's decision to leave HS2 to become Chief Operating Officer at Rolls Royce. A search for a permanent CEO is still underway.
HS2 Ltd Chairman David Higgins said Mr Hill is "uniquely qualified" to see HS2 through its future milestones and into the start of construction next year.
"I'm pleased to welcome Roy Hill back to the team," he said.
"His understanding of the project and the industry puts him in an excellent position to continue the significant progress made under Simon Kirby while we continue our search for a permanent CEO.
"Roy's secondment from CH2M will allow HS2 to benefit from his broad experience overseeing some of the world's most complex infrastructure projects."
