Galliford Try has been appointed on two student accommodation projects worth £102 million.

The company's Building division will develop the new £62m Park View Student Village for Newcastle University.

In addition, it will deliver a new £40m scheme for Coventry University.

The first project involves replacing an existing 1970s buildings in Richardson Road, Newcastle with six buildings featuring 1,279 study bedrooms.

Ranging from four- to 10-storeys, the development will create associated infrastructure, including a new energy centre for the village.

Developer Regents Godiva has also chosen the firm to deliver a £40m 24,500 sq m scheme at Godiva Place in Coventry.

Features include a 770-bedroom facility along with ancillary support facilities, and car/cycle parking for students.
