Keepmoat is seeking to recruit local contractors for its new housing scheme in Hull, it has been announced.
Work is due to begin soon on the 227-home development at Hawthorn Avenue East.
The scheme is part of a collaboration between Keepmoat and Hull City Council to regenerate the Newington and St Andrews areas.
The housing specialist is now set to begin the next phase of the programme, building over 1,000 new homes following the demolition of existing substandard housing.
Local labourers, suppliers, apprentices and trainees are now being invited to attend a 'Meet the Developer' event to find out more information about the Hawthorn Avenue East scheme
In addition, local businesses are encouraged to collect a 'tender pack' to bid for millions of pounds worth of work contracts on the development.
Cllr John Black added: "We along with our partners, Keepmoat are working hard to deliver a range of new high-quality and energy efficient homes to meet the city's housing need.
"Not only does this programme provide the much-needed affordable housing, but also offers long-term training and job opportunities for our local and skilled workforce, which is crucial for a thriving city like Hull and part of our City Plan ambitions
Richard Short, commercial manager for Keepmoat, added: "It's a great project to be involved in. We need everything from plasterers to cleaners and look forward to meeting everyone at the event."
The 'Meet the Developer' exhibition will be held at Edinburgh Street Community Centre on Woodcock Street between 8:30am and 2:30pm today, 10 February.
