REL Electrical is to deliver an electrical package for a new £10m leisure centre in Bedfordshire, it has been announced.
The council-owned Flitwick Leisure Centre will replace the existing facility and is being developed by SDC Builders.
When complete, the centre will include a 25m swimming pool, four-court sports hall, three studios, squash courts, a café, changing rooms and a 120-station gym.
Works by REL include all lighting and power in the leisure centre, as well as the installation of fire access, access control, security systems, data cabling, CCTV and lighting protection.
REL will also deliver the electrical work for the swimming pool and surrounding areas, including sourcing the required specialist equipment.
Warren Foster, Project Manager at SDC Builders, said: "REL has a proven track record in the leisure sector, so has the knowledge and experience to deliver the technical elements of this project, in particular those required for the swimming area which includes both a 25m pool and separate learning pool."
The electrical works are expected to be complete by December 2015, ahead of the opening of the new leisure centre in early 2016.
