Wates Constructon has been appointed to deliver an apartment scheme worth over £70 million in London.
The £76m project will comprise of a 32-storey tower with a seven-storey podium at its base containing 269 private and affordable social apartments. The design was developed by architects Pilbrow & Partners.
The development will form part of phase two of a major programme of works to deliver 10,000 new resident units on the Greenwich Peninsula.
The appointment was made on behalf of Knight Dragon.
Managing Director of Wates Construction, Mark Tant, said: "We’re pleased to announce our appointment to this latest stage of construction work on the Greenwich Peninsula and our continued partnership with developer, Knight Dragon."
Richard Margree, Chief Executive of Knight Dragon, added: "Knight Dragon has invested £500m so far and is committed to delivering a vibrant and viable development. We already have 1,300 homes under construction, with 500 to be completed in the next few months."
