Forrest has completed the 1,000th solar panel installation for the City West Housing Trust.
The installation is part of a carbon free project worth over £2 million.
The system was installed at a home in Little Hulton and will generate 2,250kWh per year as well as saving £150 on energy costs.
The project will also reduce City West's annual carbon emissions by over a tonne per household every year.
The contract was awarded to Forrest in 2014 and will see the company provide free maintenance on the panels for 20 years.
Paul McCarren, Energy Director at Forrest, said: "Rising energy costs in the UK are a growing concern for many customers and this is driving housing providers to review the energy efficiency of their stock.
"It is no longer just an issue of sustainability, energy efficiency now has a direct impact on the value of social housing properties and the quality of life for customers living in them."
Head of supply chain and sustainability at City West, Garry Vaughan, said: "The installation of solar panels through this innovative scheme is part of our wider commitment to help alleviate fuel poverty and raise awareness of energy efficiency."
