Transcore has been selected by the City of York Council to develop eight new council homes.
The two-bedroomed apartments will be located at Hewley Avenue, in the east of York. The homes will form part of the first phase in the council's house building programme that will deliver up to 70 new council houses this financial year.
Work will begin in mid December on the flats which will be built to lifetime homes standards with a high degree of adaptability for long-term use. They will also meet the highest code standards for sustainability and fuel efficiency with heat recovery systems, high degree of insulation and energy efficient boilers making them economical to run.
