Work Begins To Repair The Laburnham Bridge

Work to repair a bridge over the A180 in Grimsby is to start on Friday 12 September, the Highways Agency has announced.

The Laburnham Bridge, which links Cravens Lane in Habrough with Killingholme Road, was damaged in 2012 when a lorry struck the bridge and caused extensive damage to the structure.

When the work is completed, the bridge will be re-opened to the public.

In order to carry out the work safely, the A180 will be fully closed for up to five consecutive weekends, from 8pm on Friday evening until 6am on Monday morning.

During the closures, a fully-signed diversion route will be in place which has been agreed with the local authority and emergency services. Eastbound traffic will leave the A180 at the junction with the A160 and follow the diamond symbol to re-join the A180 eastbound at the junction with the A1173, westbound traffic will follow the same route in reverse.
