Building work on the £60m Friar's Walk Development in Newport is progressing well.

Contractor Bowmer & Kirkland was appointed to develop the mixed use development which will deliver more than 36,230 m2 of retail and leisure use.

An important element of the development is the re-establishment of physical and visual links between the Town Centre and river, including the new pedestrian bridge over the river, which aligns with Llanarth Street and the University.

The major development will also create dynamic new public squares and civic spaces and attractive and accessible spaces that are safe, well designed and contemporary to reflect the ambition of the city.
