A major hospital project in the south-east has celebrated a significant construction milestone by hosting a topping out ceremony.
The event marked completion of external structural work on the Kent Institute of Medicine and Surgery (KIMS), a £45m project which aims to transform acute and specialist health provision in the county.
More than 80 guests were welcomed to site by the VINCI Construction UK team and key figures from KIMS, including Chairman Steven Bernstein, Clinical Director Chris Thom and Clinical Chairman Tony Hammond.
Steven Bernstein said: "With construction on budget, and on schedule, we are very excited about delivering a centre of excellence in terms of private and NHS healthcare for Kent."
The seven acre site on the outskirts of Maidstone is expected to provide employment for over 400 people by the end of 2014.
