Lovell Awarded £17.5m Contract

Teign Housing has selected Lovell for a five-year contract to carry out responsive repairs and other work for 3,600 homes in South Devon.

The contract, worth £17.5 million in total turnover, is set to start in November 2012. Lovell will provide a reactive repairs service as well as carrying out work to empty homes, undertaking aids and adaptations and carrying out compliance works for Teign Housing which manages homes in the Newton Abbot, Teignmouth, Dawlish and surrounding Dartmoor areas.

The contract was awarded through a comprehensive, competitive tendering process with Lovell selected ahead of several other contractors. The five-year deal includes the option of two additional extensions to a maximum of four years.

Lovell is already working with Teign Housing through a separate contract providing gas repairs and servicing. The Lovell team delivering this contract and the new repairs and maintenance contract will be co-located at Teign Housing’s head office in Newton Abbot, ensuring an integrated approach to service delivery.
