United Living has announced the acquisition of Peter Duffy Ltd, a Wakefield-based civil engineering contractor with a specialist focus on water infrastructure.
The company will join United Living's Infrastructure Services division and play a key role in the group’s expanding water business.
Founded in 1972, Peter Duffy Ltd is a family-owned business with a long-standing reputation for delivering large-scale engineering solutions across water networks. Its integration into United Living marks another strategic move by the group to bolster its presence in the UK’s water sector, particularly in the high-demand area of wastewater services.
The acquisition follows United Living's purchase of water solutions provider AFECO in April 2024, underlining the group's ongoing commitment to investing in the infrastructure needed to support the UK's water and sewerage companies.
These developments significantly enhance United Living's capabilities and capacity in providing critical wastewater infrastructure, as the industry faces increasing pressure to modernise and expand.
Neil Armstrong, Chairman and CEO of United Living Group, said: "The acquisition of Peter Duffy Ltd represents another key milestone in our strategy to become a market leader in wastewater infrastructure. As the sector enters a period of transformational growth driven by environmental, political, and regulatory pressures, as well as long-standing underinvestment, United Living is well-positioned to be a trusted partner in delivering the sustainable, resilient water infrastructure the UK needs.
"The UK water market is preparing for a substantial upturn in investment as it enters the next regulatory period, AMP8, during this year. United Living’s continued investment in wastewater services reflects its commitment to the challenges and opportunities ahead."
