CEEQUAL: Another Stroma Technology Appointment

Stroma has recently been appointed by Morris Homes as CEEQUAL Assessor on ‘Vista’, the exemplar Carbon Challenge development at South Bank, Peterborough.

The Carbon Challenge is a Government programme that delivers exemplar, sustainable communities as test beds for the construction industry. Vista, the second Carbon Challenge site, will provide 295 homes designed for zero carbon performance, in a landscaped urban setting.

The Vista project has applied for a CEEQUAL Whole Project Award to cover the enabling and infrastructure works. The project must achieve a ‘Very Good’ rating in order to meet the Carbon Challenge requirements.

CEEQUAL assessment is a relatively new addition to Stroma Technology’s broad service base, and assesses the environmental quality and sustainability of civil engineering, infrastructure, landscaping and public realm projects.

By applying for both CEEQUAL Award and the Code for Sustainable Homes standard, the project is demonstrating its commitment to best practice in environmental quality and sustainability, at every level of development. It is already making headway: Plot M has now been certified as meeting the requirements of Level 6 of the Code for Sustainable Homes, which is equivalent to ‘zero carbon’.

Our appointment as CEEQUAL Assessor complements our existing multi-faceted role on the project, as Carbon Challenge Inspector, SAP Assessor and Code for Sustainable Homes Assessor.

If you have a requirement for a CEEQUAL award, please call Christian Southee on
