As part of a major £2.5 million development by the UK's foremost cinema operator, Vue Entertainment Ltd, market leading column casings manufacturer, Contour Casings Ltd, designed manufactured and installed a number of brushed Aluminium column casings in a range of sizes and shapes, and as the solution to the problem of unsightly exposed building structures.
Located in the heart of Newbury and built as part of the £7.8 Million redevelopment of the Kennet Shopping Centre, the state-of-the-art multi-screen cinema boasts high-definition 3-D technology, VIP seating and floor to ceiling screens.
After conducting a free-of-charge site survey, design consultants at Contour suggested their Aluminium column casings range, due to its durable yet aesthetic qualities. A cost-effective column casing system was required which was robust enough for high-traffic areas, while still complimenting the contemporary, industrial design of the cinema.
Rectangular and elliptical column casings were manufactured by Contour with an offset joint alignment to overcome the problem of a restricted working environment; these ranged in size and were used in vertical and horizontal applications.
Leigh Simpson, Managing Director for Contour Casings Ltd, said: "We are delighted to be involved with such a major commercial development and to be working alongside such a renowned corporate brand as Vue Entertainment Ltd. The extensive flexibility of our column casings range, coupled with the experience and expertise of our design and installation teams, enables us to deliver column encasement solutions for any environment and any budget."
