The inpatient facilities provided will be for NHS Tayside General Adult Psychiatry, Psychiatry of Old Age, Low Secure Care Services and a new regional Medium Secure Service located in Perth for the North of Scotland Planning Group. In total, 183 bed spaces will be created at Murray Royal Hospital, with an additional 52 at Stracathro Hospital.

"We're thrilled the scheme has reached financial close and we have been chosen to deliver this major healthcare project," said Graham Shennan, Morgan Sindall Managing Director. "This appointment recognises our expertise in the delivery of high-value, complex facilities, particularly PPP and PFI hospitals, where we are able to design and deliver highly complex facilities. As one of the biggest creators of healthcare facilities in the UK, we will be bringing all of our experience to the project to ensure we provide state-of-the-art facilities."

Work at Stracathro Hospital in Angus will complete in September 2011 and at Murray Royal Hospital in April 2013.
