East Hampshire Car Parks To Undergo Refurb Works

East Hampshire District Council car parks are set to get a facelift in a £145,000 deal.

The money will be spent on car parks across the district and will go towards resurfacing, patching up potholes, re-painting white lines and more.

The upgrade was agreed by EHDC's Cabinet last week and the work is expected to be carried out during February and March 2014.

Cllr Richard Millard, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Commercial Contracts, said: "Our car parks are the first port of call for our visitors and need to be up-to-scratch.

"Some of the car parks are showing signs of wear and tear and the lines have become faded and worn. We need to get them looking fresh and welcoming.

"I'm delighted these extensive works have been approved as well-maintained car parks are an essential part of any successful economy."

Works will be carried out in car parks in Alton, Petersfield, Whitehill, Bordon, Chawton, Four Marks, Liss, Liphook, Selborne, Horndean and Grayshott.
