More than 600 households in Chesterfield are enjoying a warmer home, having received a government funded Warm Front Grant between April 2008 and March 2009.

Grant aid totalling over £700,000 has helped households in Chesterfield stay warm and well over the past year.

A range of energy efficiency measures such as loft insulation, draught proofing, cavity wall insulation, central heating, heating repairs and replacement boilers were installed under the scheme.

Only recently, the Warm Front Grant was raised by the Government from £2,700 to £3,500 for gas central heating systems and from £4,000 to £6,000 for oil.

Cllr Tony Rogers, Lead Member for Homes and Neighbourhoods at Chesterfield Borough Council said: "The Warm Front scheme has been a great success in Chesterfield and I’d urge residents who may think they are eligible to get in contact with the scheme organisers."
