Following the administration of East Anglian based Haymills Group on 13 August 2009, VINCI Construction UK Limited has acquired the business assets relating to the company's Property Solutions and East Anglian Projects businesses.
Property Solutions carries out facilities management and maintenance throughout the UK, particularly in the sectors of social housing and defence, sectors which complement and enhance the existing capability of VINCI Facilities. The capability of VINCI Facilities will be further extended through the Haymills’ conservation business which specialises in the restoration of historic buildings and monuments.
Facilities management and maintenance is a strategic area of development for VINCI. The acquisition of Haymills’ Property Solutions further consolidates VINCI’s position in this sector following the acquisition of Taylor Woodrow’s construction and facilities management businesses in September 2008. Taylor Woodrow FM now forms part of the VINCI Facilities division of VINCI Construction UK Limited.
East Anglian Projects undertakes small to medium new build and refurbishment projects throughout the region and will become part of the regional contracting division of VINCI Construction UK Limited.
Commenting on the acquisition, David Joyce, Chief Operating Officer of VINCI PLC and Managing Director of VINCI Construction UK Limited said: "The acquisition is a significant step in our strategy of consolidating our presence in the sectors of FM and maintenance, as well as giving us a presence in the East Anglian region through the contracting side of the Haymills business ."
