The social housing specialist that is part of Willmott Dixon Group, Inspace, has picked up two contracts worth over £7 million from two long-term clients.
The first is a £5.2 million contract to build a five storey residential block for L&Q in Tooting, South London. The timber framed structure in Rectory Lane, Tooting, consists of 46 units of flats and maisonettes which are being built for affordable rent. The block, which replaces an existing four storey structure, also has photovoltaic panels to increase energy efficiency.
The start on site date is scheduled for October 2009 with completion March 2011. It comes two months after L&Q appointed Inspace on the first contract on its New Kent Road development in Southwark, south London, which involves building 52 affordable and private housing units.
Meanwhile in Chalfont St Giles, Bucks, Inspace has just started constructing 26 general needs apartments for Paradigm Housing. The £2.1 million design and build contract involves creating two timber framed blocks to replace the former two-storey sheltered housing on the site.
Inspace is also responsible for all external works and drainage associated with the project and work is scheduled for completion in May 2010.
