Two Nu Build semi-detached houses have just been completed by Kier Partnership Homes and German off-site manufacturer Streif at Stoke on Trent College - making it the only further education establishment in the UK to have off-site manufactured buildings for hands-on training.

The construction process took 50% less time than traditional methods, and one house has now been fitted out to showcase the best in eco-friendly initiatives, demonstrating how construction companies can achieve elements of Level 4 in the government's Code for Sustainable Homes.

The Nu Build houses, an innovative multi-agency project led by RENEW North Staffordshire, mark the first step in delivering a new affordable and sustainable housing solution to the city, as well as establishing vital skills training for construction industry workers.
