Swinton Electro-plating (Lancs.) Ltd recently took advantage of funded training through the Train to Gain initiative offered by the UK government.
Staff members were trained and assessed for NVQ's in Information Technology while the workforce were trained and assessed to NVQ level 2 in their relevant roles within the business.
Godfrey Evans (M.D.) said: "Pilot IMS Ltd provided an excellent service to ensure that everyone achieved the maximum from this initiative, with individuals receiving one-to-one coaching before being awarded this Nationally-recognised certificate.
"For their part, MANCAT opened the doors of their extensive Computer Suites staffed by very competent tutors, as well as on-site tuition for individual staff members."
The end result is a workforce with a certificate (the first for some) that recognises a personal achievement and helps them contribute towards improving the business.
Mr Evans added: "I would recommend this programme to anyone wanting to improve business and individuals' abilities."
Manchester College are once again providing ITQ training to staff following recent recruitment.
Pilot IMS Ltd have provided information recently to enable further training to take place with participants in the first scheme and to offer the initial NVQ level 2 assessments to the rest of the workforce.
