Costain has announced that, in joint venture with Galliford Try and Atkins, it has secured an extension to its current 5-year AMP4 framework contract with United Utilities.
The extension will cover the period from 1 April 2010 through to 31 March 2015.
The original contract commenced in 2005 with responsibility for implementing United Utilities non infrastructure capital delivery works programme in its southern area. The majority of projects are likely to be improvements to both clean and waste water processing plants, as was the case with AMP4. The total value of the framework contract to the GCA joint venture is worth approximately £400 million, and the value to Costain around £180 million.
Andrew Wyllie, Chief Executive of Costain, said: "We are delighted to have been awarded the extension. The award is the result of excellent delivery to date by Costain and its partners on the original AMP4 contract."
