Costain has announced that, as part of the 4D consortium, it has won a new capital delivery contract with Southern Water to manage the design and build of a new wastewater treatment works in the Brighton and Hove area.
The £225 million contract will begin with immediate effect. The construction phase is expected to take approximately three years, followed by the potential for a two year contract to operate and maintain the plant.
The other members of the consortium are United Utilities and Montgomery Watson Harza.
Andrew Wyllie, Chief Executive of Costain, said: "We are delighted to have been awarded this repeat order from Southern Water, which builds on our market leading position in the UK water sector."
