A busy community centre café's kitchen has been given a brand-new look by Lovell.
The company has given a free makeover to the volunteer-run Community Learning Café kitchen at the Keith Thompson Centre in Coronation Mount on the Guardhouse estate, Keighley, Bradford, installing new kitchen units and worktops and new flooring as well as redecorating. Lovell is currently carrying out a refurbishment scheme for 175 homes on the estate as part of its ongoing housing modernisation programme for Bradford-based housing provider Incommunities.
"This has made a big difference," said Alex Brown, Chairman of the Keith Thompson Centre. "The kitchen was getting old and tired and we're really grateful to Lovell for what they've done, it's a vast improvement."
"Wherever we work, we always look for community projects where we can help out," said Lovell Senior Site Manager Mark Watts. "When Alex from the Keith Thompson Centre asked us to refurbish the kitchen, we were only too pleased to lend a hand. The centre is right at the heart of the community in Guardhouse and the café is a great place to eat, as well as providing training opportunities for people locally."
