Leicester based civil engineering firm, Danaher & Walsh, are creating a more pleasant and safer place to live for the residents of Hemmingwell, Wellingborough.
Wellingborough Homes has called on Danaher & Walsh to revamp the old 1960s council housing estate in Hemmingwell.
The improvements will provide a safer and more aesthetically pleasing environment for the residents, as the Danaher & Walsh team will be removing the old lock up garages with the high walls and will replace them with open car parks and attractive landscaping.
Mark Hedges, Project Manager from Danaher & Walsh said: "We will be making some big improvements to this area of Hemmingwell. By removing the dilapidated lock up garages and the high walls, we will be making the area safer for residents as there will be no longer lots of dark spots as the area will be injected with landscaping, which will create a cheery atmosphere."
The residents of Hemmingwell are very pleased that this work is being done. The dark spots originating from the high fences have been a cause of worry for residents for a long time and these improvements will therefore enable residents to go out to their cars and garages with extra confidence.
Wellingborough Homes representative, Karen Robinson said: "The renovation work that has been commissioned will indeed make a huge difference to the look and feel of the Hemmingwell neighbourhood. The style of the 1960s is no longer practical for today's community, so we will be very satisfied once the renovation has been completed."
The renovation project commenced in March this year and is due to be completed in Mid-June.
