Kier Construction has been awarded a £38m contract to build a new hospital in Jamaica.
Located in Portmore on the outskirts of the capital Kingston, the facility will be privately operated by the Cardiovascular Hospitals of America.
The hospital consists of an emergency area, state of the art operating facilities and 64 private rooms. As part of a 104-acre development, the project also includes the provision of a medical campus, condominiums and infrastructure works to facilitate roads, parking areas, a bridge, two man-made lakes and landscaping.
Work on site is expected to start in the autumn.
Kier Construction Divisional Director Neil Clark commented: "This expansive site holds the potential for further development in subsequent phases and Kier is keen to demonstrate, through the successful delivery of this project, that it is well positioned to secure further work on the scheme."
