Utility Installation Projects Ltd - a leading civil engineering company serving many clients across the construction industry have recently purchased a custom made 20 tonne cable drum trailer.
Based near Ipswich, Suffolk, UK, Utility Installation Projects Ltd specialises in high voltage underground cable installation with superior knowledge and expertise in all areas of utility installation.
After recently purchasing a custom built 20 tonne Cable Trailer from Germany, this will allow Utility Installation Projects Ltd to transport cable drums up to 208m in diameter to and from sites all over the UK.
Road and Cross County Performance
The axles on this trailer are connected by a balancing system and spring-suspended, which ensures an even distribution of the carried weight on all wheels both on the road and on rough ground. The towing bar is height adjustable from 750 to 1250 mm to allow for a range of towing vehicles. Utility Installation Projects hire the accompanying tractor with trained operator to pull the cable trailer.
Stability
The sturdy rear collision bumper can be swung aside for cable drum pick-up or may be removed completely. When the bumper is closed, two coned shape pins engage into the trailer frame and thus the open U-structure is changed into a rigid square frame for increased stability.
Operation
The operating controls for starting the hydraulic power pack, loading and unreeling the drum are all accommodated within easy reach at the left front side.
Utility Installtion Projects Ltd are Lloyds NER registered, UVDB and Achilles verified. They also have the ISO 9001:2008.
